Polygon and Mercedes Benz Subsidiary Unveils Acentrik Data Sharing Platform

Daimler South East Asia, a subsidiary of the Mercedes Benz Group recently launched Acentrik, a data sharing network that will let businesses purchase and sell data in a decentralized environment using Polygon, an Ethereum Layer-2 scaling solution.

The blockchain network can be utilized to exchange data across various industries and business firms, including but not limited to car manufacturing, insurance information, technology research and engineering  projects among others, that are affiliated to Mercedes-Benz group.

Gas costs will be paid using MATIC, Polygon’s native token as transactions will be carried out on the Polygon public blockchain.  Although users will have the option of using stablecoin or other cryptocurrency to pay for data purchases.

The price of MATIC, ranked 42nd in coinmarketcap.com, displayed positive reaction with this development, with the token appreciating 10% to over $0.90 in the trading session above its price a day before.
