Trigun Stampede: Studio Orange’s reboot of the beloved series hits in January 2023.

A few months ago, it was announced that Beastars’ Studio Orange will be rebooting the fan-favorite 1998 anime Trigun (based on Yasuhiro Nightow’s 1996 manga of the same name). The new program, Trigun Stampede, distinguished itself from the original right away with a bright 3D visual style and a wacky new design for its hero, pacifist gunslinger Vash the Stampede. A new teaser reveals more about the upcoming series and showcases some of the characters Vash will meet.

Vash, nicknamed the “Humanoid Typhoon,” lands on the planet of No Man’s Land with a huge bounty on his head and quickly finds himself in difficulty with bounty hunters and inhabitants. After being rescued by a pair of reporters, Meryl Stryfe (Sakura Andou) and Roberto De Niro (Kenji Matsuda), who were investigating him for a story, the three find themselves and priest/undertaker Nicholas D. Wolfwood (Yoshimasa Hosoya) bound together as Vash tries to find his brother, Knives Millions (Junya Ikeda).

Crunchyroll will release Trigun Stampede in January 2023. With new and returning series including as Nier Automata’s adaption, Tokyo Revengers’ second season, and Bungou Stray Dogs’ fourth season, the month looks to be jam-packed for anime enthusiasts.
